What does the Skoda Kylaq offer?
Skoda cars were priced higher than the competition always. However, this is not the case with the Kylaq. The brand has understood and implemented the crucial changes into its strategy to get into the market of sub-four meter SUVs.
With the price starting at 7.89 lakh, the Kylaq sits just 10,000 rupees above the most affordable Mahindra 3XO. While in terms of features and safety, the car has managed to keep up with the tough competition as it offers additional features apart from what customers get in the same segment.
The Kylaq’s base variant, i.e. Classic, offers significant features including 16-inch steel wheels, body-colored ORVM, manual air conditioning, rear AC, analogue information display and armrest. The base variant even offers all four power winds, with an adjustable steering wheel and 12V charging socket. However, it does not have an infotainment system.
Though in the higher models, the car is equipped with a 10-inch touchscreen infotainment system and an 8-inch digital instrument cluster. Additionally, the car offers wireless charging, wireless Android Auto and Apple CarPlay, ventilated front seats, an electrically adjustable driver seat, ambient lighting and much more.
The Skoda Kylaq Engine Options
With competitors introducing a variety of engine options, Skoda has kept it simple with just one engine: the 1.0-litre three-cylinder TSI petrol unit. The one-litre engine produces 114 bhp power with 178 Nm maximum torque. Customers will have the option to choose from the six-speed manual or automatic transmission. The company claims that Kylaq accelerates 0-100 in 10.5 seconds.
The Kylaq would not be ideal for customers looking out for fuel efficiency. The customers can choose diesel or CNG options at this price point.
Design of Skoda Kylaq
With every competitor now working on their design language, we have seen how Tata and Mahindra made some major changes to their design to fit in with the 21st-century requirements. Skoda being the last entrant, has managed to offer great value for money for the customers. Earlier, it was a concern to find the right cars at great value from Skoda.
In the interiors, the cars offer outstanding features with space and design to make them feel premium. While from the outside the car is packed with all modern designs featuring all LED setup in lights. Unlike the other car’s base variant, which offers turn indicators on the body, Skoda has made it prominent with their ORVM-fitted indicators.
Overall, the car from the front has a very eye-catching design, but at the back, Skoda has kept a little different from all the other cars in the segment by not offering the connected tail lamps. However, the back feels a little bulky and boxy, making it not so sleek.
